Privacy Policy
Last updated: January 29, 2025
Atlas is your voice-based AI assistant on Discord. Because we help people have natural conversations with AI through voice channels, we care deeply about safety and privacy. We try to limit the data we collect to what's necessary to provide intelligent voice interactions.
Below, we explain what data we collect, how we use and share it, and your rights. This policy applies to all Atlas services including our Discord bot, iOS app, and website.
Data Collection and Use
Account Data
When you use Atlas through Discord, we collect your Discord username, user ID, and basic profile information through Discord OAuth (via Stytch). This helps identify you to other users and enables features like personalized responses and conversation history within a session.
Voice Data
When you speak to Atlas in a Discord voice channel, we capture your voice in real-time to:
- Convert speech to text using Cartesia Ink Whisper
- Process your request through Google Gemini 2.5 Flash
- Generate voice responses using Cartesia Sonic English
🎙️ Important: We process voice data in real-time and DO NOT store your voice recordings. Once processed, the audio is immediately discarded.
Conversation Data
During voice conversations, we process:
- Text transcriptions of your questions and requests
- AI-generated responses to maintain conversation context
- Session data to provide coherent multi-turn conversations
- Basic usage metrics like conversation duration and frequency
Conversation context is only maintained during active sessions and is cleared when you leave the voice channel.
Device and App Activity Data
We automatically collect:
- Device type, operating system, and app version
- IP address and general geographic region
- Feature usage and interaction patterns
- Response times and performance metrics
- Error logs and crash reports
This helps us improve Atlas, fix bugs, and create new features you'll love.
How We Share Data
We don't sell, rent, or lease your data to third parties. We don't use it for behavioral advertising. We only share it with:
Service Providers
- Google (Gemini): Processes conversations (no data retention)
- Cartesia: Speech-to-text and text-to-speech (real-time only)
- Stytch: Discord OAuth authentication
- Hosting providers: AWS/Vercel for infrastructure

Legal Requirements
We may disclose data if required by law, legal process, or to protect safety and rights.
Business Transfers
If Atlas is acquired or merges with another company, your data may transfer to the new owner.
How You Share Data
When you use Atlas in a Discord voice channel, other users in that channel can hear your conversations with Atlas. This is inherent to Discord's voice channel functionality and allows for group discussions and collaborative AI interactions.
If you subscribe to premium tiers, you may access enhanced features like longer conversation sessions or priority response times, which may be visible to other users in your voice channel.
Data Retention
We keep your data only as long as necessary:
- Voice recordings: Processed and immediately deleted (not stored)
- Conversation transcripts: Cleared at end of each session
- Usage statistics: 90 days (for service improvement)
- Account data: While you use Atlas + 30 days after deletion
- Analytics: 2 years (anonymized)
Legal obligations may require us to keep certain data longer.
